Beth Spurgeon serves as USA Corporate Responsibility Manager at ArcelorMittal, the world’s leading steel and mining company. She manages corporate responsibility and sustainability efforts specific to ArcelorMittal’s 27 facilities and nearly 18,000 employees in the United States. Spurgeon drives forward ArcelorMittal’s U.S. community investment initiatives, including national and local nonprofit partnerships in the company’s focus areas of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) education, environment, and health and safety. She also manages national sustainability reporting, employee engagement initiatives, and the company’s employee matching gifts program, Give Boldly. She earned her M.A. in Social Science from The University of Chicago in 2004 and currently serves on the Board of Directors for the Corporate Responsibility Group of Chicago and the Chicago Board of Directors for Step Up.
